Nekupe Sporting Resort and Retreat

Resort - Luxury All-inclusive - Personalized Service - Michelin Inspired Meals

Description:

Nekupe Sporting Resort and Retreat is a 2,400+-acre nature reserve in Nicaragua’s Pacific countryside that offers opportunities to stimulate your mind, your body and your soul. It is the vision of Don Alfredo Jr. and Dona Theresa Pellas, avid travelers and adventure enthusiasts whose commitment to nature is exhibited through the resort’s core principles of respect and stewardship of the environment.

Nekupe is found in Nandaime, the “place with abundant streams”. It is 1.5 hours from the Augusto C. Sandino International Airport, Managua. It is also 30 minutes from Granada, a charming colonial town, and just over an hour from California’s Pacific Coast.

Nekupe is home to an animal sanctuary that houses more than 158 species, including over 100,000 trees that were planted in the reserve. The reservoirs were created by ecologists and local experts. They provide habitat for wildlife and fauna. The sobering aura of the grounds serves as a backdrop for a variety of recreational activities and nature appreciation.

Nekupe is a seamless combination of sustainable nature-based design, Feng Shui inspiration, rich Nicaraguan cultural heritage, warm hospitality, and Feng Shui inspiration. It fosters exploration, adventure and wellbeing, as well as peace. Experiences include horseback riding, mountaintop yoga, tennis, skeet shooting, organic gardening and cooking classes.

About Managua

Managua (Spanish pronunciation: [maˈnaɣwa]) is the capital and largest city of Nicaragua, and the center of an eponymous department. Located on the southwestern shore of Lake Managua and inside the Managua Department, it has an estimated population of 1,055,247 in 2020 within the city's administrative limits and a population of 1,401,687 in the metropolitan area, which additionally includes the municipalities of Ciudad Sandino, El Crucero, Nindirí, Ticuantepe and Tipitapa. The city was declared the national capital in 1852. Previously, the capital alternated between the cities of León and Granada. The 1972 Nicaragua earthquake and years of civil war in the 1980s severely disrupted and stunted Managua's growth. == Etymology == There are two possible origins for the name "Managua".
